Modern steakhouse and cocktail bar

The restaurant "Sophie’s Soho" in London, England, is a remarkable example of a modern steakhouse and cocktail bar hybrid, characterized by its vibrant atmosphere and culinary sophistication. Located in the pulsating heart of Soho, it offers an inviting blend of rustic charm and contemporary style that appeals to both locals and tourists. It is part of the Sophie’s Steakhouse family, known for its high-quality ingredients and focus on British meat, distinguishing itself with an innovative approach to classic dishes.

Vibrant atmosphere in Soho London

The interior of "Sophie’s Soho" combines traditional elements with modern accents. The spacious interior is defined by warm lighting, plush seating, and high, vaulted ceilings that create an elegant yet relaxed atmosphere. A particularly striking feature is the central fire grill, which serves as the heart of the restaurant, allowing guests a direct view of their food being prepared. Additionally, there is a generous covered terrace adorned with plants and stylish furnishings, ideal for drinks or al fresco dining. This versatility makes the restaurant a place suitable for both casual get-togethers and special occasions.

High quality British meat dishes

The kitchen places great emphasis on high-quality, locally sourced ingredients, particularly British beef from the West Country, which is dry-aged and processed on-site. Standout dishes include the "Porterhouse Steak," a juicy, large cut of meat perfectly grilled over an open flame and served with a selection of sides such as homemade fries or crisp salads. The "Slow Roast Prime Rib of Beef" also impresses with its tender texture and intense flavor, perfect for larger groups looking to enjoy a meal together. For those preferring something lighter, the "Cornish Turbot with Sorrel Butter" offers a delicate fish option with a touch of sophistication. Desserts like the "Caramelised Pineapple with Coconut Sorbet" provide a sweet finish with an exotic note that refreshes the palate.

Inviting terrace for drinks

The drinks menu is another highlight of "Sophie’s Soho." Famous for its lavish 10-ounce martinis offered in various versions, it brings a hint of New York steakhouse culture. Alongside a selection of regional beers and wines that perfectly complement the dishes, there is a creative cocktail menu that rounds out the experience. Particularly popular is the "Earl Grey Mojito," served in a charming teapot and impressing with its unique flavor. This attention to detail is also evident in the service, which is described as friendly, efficient, and attentive.

Exclusive events at restaurant

The restaurant is not just a place to eat, but also an experience for larger groups or events. With special sharing menus and a separate area for events, it offers flexibility for different occasions. Beneath the restaurant lies a hidden speakeasy club called "Jack Solomons," adding an additional layer of enjoyment with its retro aesthetic and live music—perfect for those who wish to continue the celebration after their meal.

The restaurant itself is beautiful, but sadly, my experience was disappointing. I went there to celebrate my birthday with a friend, excited for a special evening. Despite mentioning the occasion in my reservation, it was completely overlooked. Another table celebrating a birthday received a candle with their dessert, which made me feel like such small but meaningful gestures are what truly elevate a celebration. These details make all the difference, especially when you're spending around £200 for the evening. It left me feeling let down when it could have been such a memorable night. Considering whether to return.

Big fan of this place since I found it. Great food, really reasonably priced for west end and for quality. The service is also really really good. Literally find it hard to go elsewhere when I am down in that fancy London, now!

Sat at the bar and got served pretty much straight away. They have 125ml glass of wine which i have not seen in many other places. When ordering the small glass of wine you may be surprised that it's half the size of what you are used to. They had great chips so give them a go.

The food was good, but expensive for comparative options, great cocktails though.

Wouldn’t recommend this spot for a Sunday roast. Some of the worst service here. We came here as a group of ten which I understand is a large table. But waiting over 45 mins for drinks, one of which was a screw top bottle of wine was just not okay. I’m not sure if the servers were understaffed or just didn’t want to be there but at one point one girl rolled her eyes at us when delivering food to our table. The roast was okay, everything just took so long. We were at the table for just short of fours hours for a roast and shared deserts. It was disappointing after seeing such great things online about this place.

The food is wildly overpriced for the amount they give you. I myself am a picky eater but £26 for 3 potatoes, 2 bits of carrot and parsnip, and a cube of pork belly? The atmosphere was lovely and service was great even if our waitress was bending over a family member basically shoving her breats in his face but overall pretty good. Personally I wouldn't eat here again but it is a nice place overall

This place was amazing, the service was attentive and knowledgeable. The pre theatre dinner menu was great value for money. Steak and fries were perfect. (My medium rare steak was cooked beautifully) The Soup starter tasted divine. It could not have been a more amazing setting with real atmosphere. I would highly recommend this reataurant.

My wife and I had a wonderful experience here. We were running late due to London traffic, and they were kind and accommodating when we arrived. The atmosphere and service were top notch. Loved the open kitchen type of concept and the food was prepared very well.

Food was great. We were a party of 4 people and got the sunday roast + a rib eye. Both came with lots of sides all cooked to perfection. The sauces were great ad well. My personal preference would be for the beef to be a tad more cooked. I don’t like it when the red juices are visible on the plate (no points removed for this). The service was good. Deducted a star because of the glasses smelling eggy - it’s something I can’t tolerate. Second star lost because of the table. It felt cheap and was not stable. Overall a good experience with room for improvement.
